Description
Support Georgia Historical Society’s Annual Super Museum Sunday! Join us for a glimpse into the daily lives of people, including the story of enslaved people, who are inside on a winter’s day during the early nineteenth century. This family program has a special emphasis on learning about the many art forms that were incorporated into people’s lives on a daily basis during this time. How did people make chores and work fun? How did people socialize? How did children entertain themselves before our modern technology? Guests will have the opportunity to play parlor games, see a visual artist at work, help bake a treat, listen to a story, participate in a theatrical performance, experiment with the art of letter-writing, hear period music, and join in with singing and dancing. Specifically catered to homeschooled families and students, take-home lessons and activities will be available for participants. Pre-registration requested.
