By Debbie Calabro January 3, 2023

Have you ever wanted to visit the national parks as a family?  All those admissions sure do add up for a family.  Well, you may be lucky if you have 4th grader.   Now is the time to do it!

Did you know every child in 4th grade is eligible for a free National Parks pass.  The passes are good till August 31 of each year.

All you have to do is sign up your 4th grade after September 1 of their 4th grade year, follow the directions on the website and PRINT IT!!!

All you have to do is go to this website to obtain a pass.  https://everykidoutdoors.gov/index.htm

When you arrive at a National Park show it to the ranger.  You must have a printed copy, as they will not take a digital version of it.  If there is no ranger, leave it on your dashboard of your car.  The pass will admit all children in the family under 16 and up to 3 adults for free.

Please note this pass will not cover parking or other fees.  Some sites will let you exchange the paper pass for a plastic one.

Do not have a 4th grader yet, do not worry!  Have your grandma and grandpa purchase the senior pass for $20 a year or $80 for a lifetime.  If you decide to buy, each year it is $20 so by he year 5th year, it will be free and there after.  You will need to have the senior with you and it admits 4 adults including the senior and all children under 16.   https://store.usgs.gov/senior-annual
