All-American Local Summer Fun at Alpharetta Aviators Baseball Games

We've driven by the ballpark thousands of times, but never stopped in. I'd spent years pointing out the military plane and helicopter peeking at drivers alongside the road, but never investigated. Until last week when my boys and I decided to spend a summer evening taking in some truly local action watching an Alpharetta Aviators baseball game at Veterans Field located at American Legion Post 201 in Alpharetta.

This team, part of the Sunbelt League, is made up of the top college baseball players around the nation. They battle it out over the summer amongst 5 other teams around the Atlanta area providing low-cost, all-American family fun!

With tickets only $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 10 and up, and children nine and under free, catching a game is affordable for all the baseball fans in your family! Purchase tickets at the field, but keep in mind it is cash only. There is an ATM inside the American Legion building if you need to grab some cash like I did!

Check out some of the neat military vehicles on the property!

In addition, the Alpharetta Aviators have partnered with food trucks and bouncy houses to provide a full experience for the family. Let the kids play, grab some great food, and watch some really good ball. When my boys and I were there, they even had one bouncy slide with water, so let the kids wear their swimsuits and keep cool while they play!

The grounds of Veterans field are gorgeous with tall trees, lots of green grass, picnic tables and plenty of space to spread out. Feel free to bring your camp chairs, or grab a seat in the bleacher seats along the first and third base lines. I will warn you, though, that the bleacher seats are a bit old and rickety, so if you have a seat cushion, go ahead and bring that with you for a little added comfort.

Mac Kid Tip: Next time we go, I'll plan to pack a picnic for some eats and treats during the game. There was only one food truck on the property at our game, and though the food looked tasty, the prices were a bit too high for our family as we were looking to keep this more of an economical outing.

You still have time this summer to catch an Alpharetta Aviators game. Following is there schedule for the remainder of the summer:
