It doesn't get any simpler, or more sweet. It's a moment when our community seems so small and intimate that it's hard to believe all the hustle and bustle, the construction and growth going on all around us. But in this little pocket of downtown Alpharetta on a Saturday night in the warm months of summer, you can find just that. A grassy spot to place your toes. A cool stream in which the kids can splash, and local talent of song, dance, and improv bring smiles and laughter to the air. At Brooke Street Park's Summer Concert Series, you'll find just that.
This past Saturday, we made our way to City Hall in downtown Alpharetta, camp chairs slung across our backs, in anticipation of a performance being put on by Act 1 Theater. We found an empty spot of grass, and settled in for what turned out to be a night of laughter brought on by a group of talented improv actors, as well as cabaret performances highlighting past shows such as Annie and Guys and Dolls, as well as solo performances by skilled singers and musicians. We all laughed and smiled our way through the evening wondering why it had taken us such a long time to make our way to this gem of a Saturday evening perfect for families and friends and hometown fun.
On most Saturday evenings through September, you can find a show fit for family fun. Bring a cooler with drinks, pack a picnic or snacks, and invite everyone you know to this FREE event!
