Summer Reading Programs Throughout North Fulton and South Forsyth

By Erin Stolle, Publisher/Editor - Macaroni Kid Alpharetta-Roswell-Milton May 16, 2019

School's out and summer is here, but that shouldn't mean books are left on the shelf. When students don't read during the summer months, they lose educational ground - a phenomenon that lowers achievement potential and widens the achievement gap.

To encourage kids to continue reading over the summer, several organizations have created Summer Reading Challenges.  Below is a list of Challenges for local kids.

Fulton Public Library Summer Reading Program

Launch into reading! Read books, complete activities, and write reviews to earn badges. Read just 5 books this summer to complete the program. All additional completed activities and reviews written will earn more tickets for the grand prize drawing. So, the more you complete, the more chance you have to win the grand prize! Program runs June 1st - August 1st. Click here to register your family!

Forsyth Public Library Summer Reading Program

Libraries are out of this world! Join our crew of book-loving patrons and enjoy Summer Reading Fun activities for children, teens, and adults all summer long. See the full calendar online at www.forsythpl.org or pick up a Summer Program Guide at your local FCPL branch.

Registration for Summer Reading Fun will be open May 1, 2019 through August 1, 2019. Registered participants may begin tracking books and earning points, badges, and grand prize entries from May 24, 2019 through August 1, 2019. Click here to register your family!

Fulton County Schools 2019 Summer Reading Lists
ďťżA committee of media and educational technology instructors worked to compile the summer reading list. The summer reading committee selected titles based on their appeal to students. The goal of the summer reading list is to provide students with a wide variety of books to enjoy during the summer months. Students may wish to read works from other level lists as appropriate. It is our hope that the summer reading list will encourage students to make reading an essential part of summer vacation.
