Sports & Instructional Camps at Alpharetta Community Center
Multi-Sport Camp (age 6-12)
Enjoy an exciting week of spring break, with instruction on basketball, soccer, football, lacrosse, volleyball, and baseball. Camp held April 4-8, Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm. Pre/post camp available (8:30am-5pm) with fun games and activities
Dance Camp (age 3-6)
Little dancers enjoy dance instruction and fun! April 4-7, Monday-Thursday, 9:30am-12:30pm
Gymnastics Camp (age 3-10)
Learn to tumble, twist and flip! April 4-6, Monday-Wednesday, 9:30am-12:30pm
SUMMER CAMPS
Cheerleading Camp (age 4-10)
Campers learn proper technique, jumps, stunts and tumbling. Monday-Thursday, 9:45am-12:45pm

Dance Camp (age 3-8)
Choose from a variety of dance themes for each camp, with a show for parents at the end. Monday-Thursday, 9:45am-12:45pm

Gymnastics Camp (age 3 and up)
Gymnasts participate in games and work on all gymnastics equipment to develop skills. Monday-Thursday, 9:30am-12:30pm

SporTykes (age 3-4)
Campers spend one day each on soccer, t-ball, basketball and football, and also get creative with arts/crafts. Three-day sessions, Tuesday-Thursday, 9:30am-12:30pm

Campers are taught specific skills in their prospective sport in a friendly and fun environment. Week long sessions run Monday-Friday (times vary)

Viper Volleyball Summer Camp
Experience intense learning and fun competition, while focusing on individual skill techniques, coordination, development activities and team concepts. Week long sessions run Monday-Friday
- Session 1-A (age 8-12, beginning) – June 6-10, 9am-12noon
- Session 1-B (age 11-14, intermediate) – June 6-10, 1pm-4pm
- Session 2 (age 11-17) – July 18-22, 9am-12noon

Dance Classes (age 2-8)
Keep your dancer moving and grooving this summer with weekly afternoon or early evening classes

- Mondays: Twinkle Twos (age 2); Fairy Princess (age 3-5); Hip Bop (age 4-6)

Gymnastics Classes (age 2 and up)
Do you have an active, flipping, twisting, gravity-defying ball of energy? Select from afternoon or early evening gymnastics classes that meet weekly for an hour (45 minutes for 2’s). Tumbling and advanced gymnastics also offered for ages 6 and up

SporTykes Classes (age 2-4)
Tiny Tykes (age 2) teaches basic coordination skills of various sports in a fun and colorful atmosphere. SporTykes (age 3-4) introduces children to very basic fundamental skills to play soccer, t-ball, basketball, and football. Held on Mondays or Fridays during summer (times vary)

Volleyball Summer Skills Clinics (age 8-18)
Players choose specific skills to work on in a small group environment. Training-for-Tryouts primes players for feeder and high school tryouts. One-day afternoon clinics offered.

- Serving Clinic: Friday, July 22
Shotokan Karate (age 7+)
Practicing traditional karate tones the body, develops composure, and increases self-confidence. Taught by Daryl D. Adams, 5th Degree Black Belt

Junior Tennis Camps

Participants learn to play tennis or develop skills in a fun atmosphere. Monday-Thursday, mornings
- Sessions – June 6-9, 13-16, 20-23, 27-30, July 11-14, 18-21, 25-28, August 1-4
- Tiny Tots (ages 4-6) – introduction to game with fundamentals taught through fun skill activities
- Future Stars (ages 6-8) – intermediate/advanced; learn game rules and rally; prep to join league
- Rising Stars (ages 8-10) – stroke/footwork development, keeping ball in play, scoring/match play
- All Stars I and II (age 11-14, 15-18) – juniors with little or no experience; fundamentals taught with fun games in less competitive setting
Wills Park Tennis Center Camp
Covers forehand, backhand, serve and volleys, all taught through fun skills, drills and games. Age 7-12. Monday-Thursday, 9am-12noon

Junior Tennis Programs
Participants learn to play tennis or develop skills in a fun atmosphere. Classes meet once a week with varied days and times available at each site
- Sessions – April 18-May 21, and June 6-July 25
- Tennis Tots (ages 4-6) – basic tennis strokes with fun games/drills to develop motor skills
- Little Aces (ages 7-9) – focus on learning proper techniques to prepare for match play
- Hotshots (ages 10+) – stroke and footwork development for more consistent match play

Aquatics at Alpharetta City Pool
Swim Lessons (ages 18 months-13 years+)
Familiarizing toddlers with the water – Showing tiny tykes how to blow bubbles and float –Teaching strokes and kicks to beginners – Focusing on form and building distance for young swimmers – Developing stroke proficiency and swim endurance – Instructing basic safety and rescue skills – Teaching swimmers how to dive, tread water and learn open-water survival techniques. All of these are taught through a variety of age and proficiency level swim lessons, offered in morning or evening sessions.

- Session 2 – June 14-17, and June 21-22
- Session 3 – July 12-15, and July 19-20
- Session 4 – July 26-29, and August 2-3
Alpharetta Sharks Swim and Dive Team (age 5-18, boys/girls)
Swim and dive for fun or competitively, earn awards, make new friends and experience the excitement of meets! Daily practices are held May – June, with a league meet June 30-July 2 and a state meet July 29-30. Registration deadline: April 22
NEW! Sharks Water Polo Team (age 12-18, boys/girls)
Beginner program for participants who can swim 25-50 yards comfortably. Twice weekly practices with one game per week; season runs July 11 – August 5. Registration deadline: May 20
NEW! Stroke Clinics in May (age 6-9 and 10-13)
Class focuses on stroke improvement and endurance, just in time for swim team. Must have completed Sea Turtles Level 3 or have those skills to enroll. Held on Saturdays, May 7, 14, 21.
Outdoor Programs through Alpharetta Community Center
New! Recreational Tree Climbing (age 6-76+)
Intro climbing course teaches all ages how to climb trees on ropes in a fun, safe way at Wills Park. One-day afternoon sessions held monthly. Available in spring and summer on March 12, April 9, May 14, June 11, July 9, or August 13. Specialty climbs for Girls Only on March 19 and for Guys Only on May 21
- Intro to Road Cycling (age 15+) – March 19 or May 14
- Intro to Mountain Biking (age 15+) – April 23 or June 4
- How to Ride a Bike for Kids (age 4-11) – June 19 or July 17
- Rafting Adventure Day Trip (age 12+ with adult) – June 24 – Chattooga River trip and lunch
- Teens Zip Line and Canopy Tour (age 14-18) – April 6 or May 7 – Zip line, nature walk, rappel
