REVIEW: Tiara Saurus Rex by Brianna Caplan Sayres

I suppose we've all been there....in a competition with someone that always seems to come out on top. It takes a bit of courage just to show up and give it your all, and sometimes easier just to bow out. But then sometimes, a lesson is learned, not just by you, but also by your fiercest competitor, and it makes the just-showing-up part all the more worth it.

This lesson is what is sweetly expressed through adorably cute illustrations and rhythmic cadence as told through a dinosaur-ific pageant tale in the children's book Tiara Saurus Rex written by Brianna Caplan Sayres.

You see, the Miss Dinosaur pageant is about to begin and all of the girls are hopeful they will win the crown. But Tina Saurus with her winning smile and unbeatable talent seems to always be the favorite, scaring away the other competitors one by one. After all, how can they compete with Tina? Until one dinosaur gives it her all and Tina surprised the audience with a gracious gift, showing that winning the top prize may not be the best prize of all.

From the same author as one of my (and my kids') favorite books, Where Do Diggers Sleep at Night?, Tiara Saurus Rex is another must-have for every little girl's bookshelf. She'll love the friendly dinosaur smiles, the sparkles and glitter adorning the illustrations, and especially the expression of friendship.

Note: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for this review, however the thoughts and opinions above are my own.
