ACTIVITY/SWEET TREAT: Build-A-Snowman Cookie Kits

By Jamie Twarogowski January 11, 2016

Who doesn’t love an adorable, jolly snowman during the winter season? But what happens when the snow isn’t falling? Find other creative ways to build a snowman! And what could be sweeter than a snowman made of cookies?

Gather up some friends for a snowman cookie-making party!

Here's what you’ll need:

  1. Sugar cookies cut and baked into different size circles. (We used pre-made dough. Tip! Form the dough into different size logs. Refrigerate until firm, then slice and bake. No rolling and cutting needed!)
  2. White royal icing
  3. (And now the fun part!) Assorted candies and snack foods to create the snowman. Here are some suggestions:
    • Pretzel Sticks for arms and legs
    • Candy corn for the nose
    • Mini chocolate chips for eyes, mouth, buttons
    • Mini M&M's for buttons
    • Smarties for buttons
    • Peanut butter cups or bell shaped chocolates cut in half for hats
    • Fruit by the Foot or Fruit Roll Ups, cut into strips for the scarf

What to do:

  1. After your cookies are baked and cooled, frost them and let the frosting harden.
  2. Create “kits” with two different size cookies and assorted goodies.
  3. Assemble a snowman and enjoy a treat … no matter the weather outside!
