Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department is currently taking registration for the city’s youth swim team. One of the largest championship teams in the State of Georgia, the Alpharetta Sharks Swim Team is coached by 2013 Atlanta Swim Association Coach of the Year, Miriam Scholz.
The Sharks Swim Team offers youth, ages 5-18, a fun, competitive swimming experience, as well as the opportunity to perfect strokes and skills. “Swim team is like attending a daily community event. It is run by a fabulous coach who excels at inspiring children of all abilities. The Sharks are not just a swim team, they are a community family,” states Roxanne Robinson, mother of three Sharks swimmers.
Whether swimming for fun or swimming competitively, each child will earn awards, make new friends and experience the excitement of swim meets. Daily weekday practices are held May-June, after school and during the summer. If your child can swim the length of a 25 yard pool, they can be an Alpharetta Shark.
Interested swimmers must register by April 23, online at www.alpharetta.ga.us/recreation or in person at any Alpharetta recreation facility. For more information, contact 678-297-6100 or aquatics@alpharetta.ga.us. Don’t miss an opportunity to swim with the Sharks!
