SPORTS Camps at the Alpharetta Community Center

Sportykes – Instructional Sports Camp (ages 3-4)
Campers will spend one day each on soccer, t-ball, basketball and football, and will also get creative with arts/crafts.  Three-day sessions, Tuesday-Thursday, 9:30am-12:30pm

  • Sessions: May 26-28, June 2-4, June 23-25, July 1-16, August 4-6

 

MC Sports – Instructional Sports Camps
Campers are taught specific skills in their prospective sport in a friendly and fun environment

Week-long sessions run Monday-Friday (times vary)

Basketball Camp (ages 4-7)

  • Sessions:  June 22-26, July 13-17, August 3-7; daily 9am-12noon
Basketball Camp (ages 8-14)
  • Sessions:  June 15-19, July 6-10, July 27-31; daily 9am-3pm
Soccer Camp (ages 4-7)
  • Sessions:  June 1-5, July 6-10, July 27-31; daily 9am-11am
Baseball Camp (ages 4-7)
  • Sessions:  June 8-12, July 13-17; daily 9am-11am
Flag Football Camp (ages 5-7)
  • Sessions:  June 15-19, July 20-24; daily 9am-11am

Viper Volleyball Summer Camp
Experience intense learning and fun competition, while focusing on individual skill techniques, coordination, development activities and team concepts

Week-long sessions run Monday-Friday (times vary)

  • Session 1-A (ages 9-12) – Beginning – June 8-12, 9am-12noon
  • Session 1-B (ages 11-14) – Intermediate – June 8-12, 1pm-4pm
  • Session 2 (ages 11-17) – July 20-24, 9am-12noon
  • Session 3 (ages 6-10) – August 3-7, 1pm-3pm

Cheerleading Camp (ages 4-10)
Campers learn proper technique, jumps, stunts and tumbling

Four-day sessions run Monday-Thursday from 9:45am-12:45pm

  • Sessions:  June 8-11 and July 13-16

 

Dance Camps (ages 3-8)
Choose from a variety of dance themes for each four-day camp, with a show for parents at the end. 

Each camp meets Monday-Thursday from 9:30am-12:30pm

  • Sessions (ages 3-6), varied themes:  June 1-4, 8-11, 22-25, July 6-9, 13-16, August 10-13, 17-20, 24-27
  • Sessions (ages 5-8):  June 15-18 (Showtime); July 20-23 (Bop, Hop, Jazz); August 3-6 (Shake, Rattle, Roll)

 

Dance Classes (ages 2-10)
Keep your dancer moving and grooving this summer with weekly afternoon or early evening classes.

Mondays: Tiny/Talented (ages 3-4); Fairy Princess (ages 4-5); Hip Bop (ages 5-7)

Wednesdays: Twinkle Two’s (age 2); Hip Bop (ages 4-6); Hip Hop for Girls (ages 8-10)

  • Sessions (4 classes each): Week of June 1-Week of June 22; Week of July 6-Week of July 27

 

Gymnastics Camp (ages 3 and up)
Gymnasts will participate in games and work on all gymnastics equipment to develop skills

Four-day sessions run Monday-Thursday from 9:30am-12:30pm

  • Sessions:  June 1-4, 8-11, 15-18, 22-25, June 29-July 2, July 6-9, 13-16, 20-23, 27-30, August 3-6, 10-13

 

Gymnastics Classes (ages 2 and up)
Do you have an active, flipping, twisting, gravity-defying ball of energy and are looking for a shorter period for them to engage in physical activity this summer?  Select from a variety of afternoon or early evening gymnastics classes that meet weekly for an hour (45 minutes for 2’s). Tumbling and advanced gymnastics are also offered for ages 6 and up.  

  • Sessions (4 classes each):  Week of June 1-Week of June 22; and Week of July 6-Week of July 27

Lil’ Vibe Fitness Class (ages 6-11)

A fun, creative and effective dance fitness program designed to teach rhythm and movement through a combination of routines and games.  Students work towards a final performance at end of each 8-week session.  Thursdays, 4:45-5:45pm

Sessions:  May 7-June 25 and July 2-August 20

Junior Tennis Programs – North Park
Participants will learn to play tennis or develop skills in a fun atmosphere

Three-day, morning sessions, Monday-Wednesday

  • Sessions:  June 1-3, 8-10, 15-17, 22-24, June 29-July 1, July 6-8, 13-15, 20-22, 27-29
  • Champs (ages 4-6) – develop hand-eye coordination through fun skill activities; 8:30-9am
  • Racketeers (ages 6-10) – develop all strokes while learning to play a game; 9-11am
  • Grand Slam (ages 10-14) – stroke development with goal of playing competitive; 9-11am

Junior Tennis Programs – Webb Bridge, Wills Park
Participants will learn to play tennis or develop skills in a fun atmosphere

Classes meet once a week for 5 weeks with varied days and times available at each site

  • Sessions:  May 26-June 29; July 6-August 8
  • Tennis Tots (ages 4-6) – basic tennis strokes with fun games/drills to develop motor skills
  • Little Aces (ages 7-9) – focus on learning proper techniques to prepare for match play
  • Hotshots (ages 10+) – stroke and footwork development for more consistent match play

 

Junior Development Match Play (ages 8+) – Wills Park
For advanced beginners/intermediate players preparing for match play, competition, team tennis

Classes focus on speed/agility footwork, tennis conditioning, skills consistency, match play

Meet once a week for 5 weeks; Wednesday 5:30-7:30pm or Thursday 9-11am

  • Sessions:  May 26-June 29; July 6-August 8

 

Junior Tennis Camps (ages 8-12) – Webb Bridge (WB), Wills Park (WP)
Camp will cover forehands, backhands, serve and volleys, through fun skills, drills and games

Camp meets Monday-Thursday, 9am-12noon

  • Sessions:  June 8-11 (WP), June 22-25 (WB), July 6-9 (WP), July 20-23 (WB)

Swim Lessons (ages 18 months-13 years+)
Familiarizing toddlers with the water…showing tiny tykes how to blow bubbles and float…teaching strokes and kicks to beginners…focusing on form and building distance for young swimmers…developing stroke proficiency and swim endurance…instructing basic safety and rescue skills…teaching swimmers how to dive, tread water and learn open-water survival techniques. All of these are taught through a variety of age and proficiency level swim lessons, offered in morning or evening sessions.

  • Session 1:  June 2-4 and June 9-11
  • Session 2:  June 16-18 and June 23-25
  • Session 3:  July 7-9 and July 14-16

 

Alpharetta Sharks Swim Team (boys/girls, ages 5-18)
Swim for fun or competitively, earn awards, make new friends and experience the excitement of swim meets!  Daily practices are held May – June, with a league meet June 26-28 and a state meet July 24-25.
