REVIEW: Creatacard iPad App from American Greetings

By Erin Stolle, Publisher - Macaroni Kid Alpharetta/Roswell/Milton August 25, 2014
I have really good intentions to get cards for my kids to send to their grandparents since they all live out-of-state. But as good as my intentions are, I rarely remember to look at the card selections at the store, or more likely I'm dealing with a toddler who just doesn't have the patience to wait for me to pick out the perfect card.

So when I heard about Creatacard™ from American Greetings, I got really excited. I can now have my kids "create a card" from the comfort of our home, when their moods are in tact, and straight from our hearts.

Creatacard is a FREE app exclusively made for iPad allowing artists of all abilities and ages to put their personal touch on a card and send it to a loved one. Stocked with a large variety of tools, your young artists can decorate their creations by using pencils, paintbrushes, crayons, markers, stickers, letters and more! All tools are available in every color of the rainbow and thensome! Your kids can even add photos accentuated with frame options as well. There are also template options from which to choose if you need a starting point.

Immediately after downloading the app, I sat down with my 8-year-old son and he took off with very little instruction. The next thing I knew, he had created quite a unique masterpiece. I'm always impressed by the imagination of my kids, so give them the right tools and you'll really watch them soar! My 3-year-old son had fun choosing stickers to decorate his card. Working with the iPad made it really user friendly for both of my boys!

So, what happens when they're done? You can submit the card to American Greetings for them to print and mail. The cost is only $3.49 per card and they will mail it anywhere in the world. You even have the option to track the card through production, its trip to the post office and all the way to delivery. What fun!

Grandparents Day is quickly approaching on September 7th. Why not have your kids sit down and make a card for their grandparents? Have it done and submitted by August 28th and the card should arrive in their mailbox just in time.

So, head on over to your iTunes app store and download the Creatacard app and start making the day of all those in your life. And as fun as this is for the kids, I bet you'll enjoy playing with the app, too! I know I did!
