Here at Out of the Box we love to imagine, create, and grow in our love of art! We hope to share this passion with you and your family through our workshops, classes, birthdays, camps, and events. potters We offer wheel, clay hand building, drawing, oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, multi media art, and much more! Out of the Box has after school programs, day classes for home schoolers, camps, workshops, and we join with local schools! Our hearts beat for art and we hope to share this with you!

Camp Times, Dates, and Costs:
Camp dates, times and costs vary depending on camp.  Click HERE to visit the OOTB website and learn more about the camps available. 

There are morning camps from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM and afternoon camps from 1:30 - 4:30 PM.

Camp Descriptions:

Multi-media camps
This means the campers will create in clay, drawing, painting, collage, as well as other media like printmaking, sculpture etc. Using traditional as well as many unusual tools you might never think of using in art!.

Girls Only AM
Create items for their rooms, paint on canvas, as well as burlap canvas,” Fox” pillows, create in clay as well as multi media collage/ painting all about them! Elem/Middle School 

Girls Only PM
Pinterest inspired working with Fabrics, paints, and clay. From burlap banners to journaling multi media self-portraits girls will enjoy expressing themselves through drawing, painting, clay and textiles. Recommended for ages 7-11 only.

NEW BOYS WILDERNESS ART CAMP
For Boys only: Hands on active camp with clay and sculptures, painting, collage, drawing, create 3-d pieces from wood and other media! Each day will focus on something different that interest the boys each day. There will be tents set up in the room as well as many more surprises to inspire them to create actively. Two camps different times: preschool or elementary

Preschool camps
Ages 4-6 only. We offer several camps for our youngest Artists. These camps will be perfect for your young artist! “Young at art”,” Break the rules Impressionist”, “ Break the rules modern “ “ How great thou Art Bible and art camp” as well as “ Boys only wilderness camp for preschool”

Meet the Masters
Break the Rules Impressionist and “Break the Rules Modern Artists: This camp focuses on artists who did things differently. There will be no repeated projects. Art inspired by Nevelson , Cassatt, Cezanne, Suerat, Haring, Britto, Pollock and more! Campers will go home with clay, sculpture, canvas, multi media collage and painting. 

Drawing Camps
Out of the Box will help campers “Get outside the box” creating in all drawing media during the week. While being taught with traditional drawing techniques they will create projects, which will allow for individual passions and hobbies! Campers will learn to use unusual items and tools to create their drawings! Campers will use a variety of drawing media. There are elementary level camps as well as tween/ teen camp available.

Visual art Journaling
This highly creative art form campers use spray, inks, designs, paint, canvas, journals, found objects to create designs and express themselves. Art prompts in “ wreck this journal” fashion are used to inspire and guide each camper.  Campers will have option to make their own journal as well. There is not one that looks the same when campers are done! They may enhance memories, vacations, friendships, and hobbies using this technique! This is a Tween/ teen camp. Very popular each year! New projects. For Tweens and teens.

Folk Art Fun
So popular last year it is back with all new artists and projects!  We love Folk art so much we had to have this camp! Bright and vibrant colors will be used in clay, painting, drawing, sculpting 3-d projects, use of found objects as we make Creations inspired by many local artists as well as those well known in the folk art world such as Maud Lewis, Howard Finster, John “ Cornbread” Anderson and some new surprises.

Farmyard friends
For our younger folk art friends we will create chickens, fat cats, new cows on parade, and more while again being inspired by local artists! We may even have a special farmyard friend surprise us!

How Great Thou Art camp
This is a Bible arts camp, it is for Elementary and preschool ages (divided) as well as teens. This year’s theme is “Fruit of the Spirit” we will be exploring the attributes of the spirit through art projects for all ages in clay, painting, drawing, collage and found media as well. We will teach this from a Bible based prospective including famous artists inspired by the Bible. This is not a craft camp

Flip Flop till you Drop
Beach and summer art camp - NEW this year - We had so many wonderful ideas for summer projects we could not wait to share them. We will add sand to our canvas painting, use all sorts of textures and tools to create in clay as well as collage, canvas and more. Lots of splattering and creating great Summer works of art of our campers favorite things such as a “ vacation in a bowl” clay piece, watercolor sunset beach painting, Sandcastle painting with real sand and so much more. We know this will be a full camp so register early. Am and pm camps.

Under the Sea
New this year - Offered twice this summer. Come join OOTB to create with salt paintings, watercolor, pastels, clay, sculpture and acrylics as we dive into animals, and activities we love in the waters of the ocean! Elementary ages

Storybook and art camp
NEW this year for ages 5-8: this camp will focus on favorite stores and illustrators while creating their works of art as well.  Artists will include Dr. Suess, Eric Carle, as well as related books such as “ The best artist in the Ocean” “ Art and Max”’ Camille and Sunflowers” and more artists based literature to inspire the campers art work.

Potters Wheel
Tween/teens: 1:30-4:30. Come join us in our clay studio to get creative and make friends! LIMIT 8 campers ONLY art exhibit the end of the week. New themes each week  so bring your imagination! 

Mud works
Potter’s wheel and clay hand building, best of both worlds for our younger campers. Elementary 9:30-12:30 and 1:30-4:30. Limit 16. Parents will be invited to join in on the wheel at the end of camp if they like! Themes will be different each week. Skills will include the same as above description.
