My Top 4 Podcasts for Finding My Mojo and Keeping Me Centered

By Erin Stolle, Publisher/Editor - Macaroni Kid Alpharetta-Roswell-Milton March 18, 2019

I heard somewhere recently, most likely on a podcast during one of my #99walks, that it's important to always keep learning. Whether you're looking for success within work or life, always challenging yourself to grow and learn keeps you sharp. Keeps you focused. And, honestly, makes you much more thoughtful and understanding of others.

So part of my wellness routine for myself is listening to podcasts. I realize there are TONS of podcasts out there. Many meant to entertain, but the ones I tend to gravitate toward are centered around personal development. I wanted to share with you what motivates me when I need that extra little oomph to keep going. When my draw toward a nap pulls more than my draw toward productivity. When I need to find my mojo.

1. RISE Podcast with Rachel Hollis
This was one of my very first podcasts that I discovered, shortly after reading Rachel Hollis' book Girl, Wash Your Face. I was so impressed by how many "lies" to which I could relate throughout the book, things we as women tell ourselves and shortcomings we convince ourselves to believe that we are lesser than the next person, that I immediately started looking for all of the social media channels I could find by Rachel Hollis. Hollis' podcast is much the same as her book. Motivational. Real. Funny. She brings her own thoughts on the struggles we all face, as well as interviews some pretty outstanding folks. One of my favorite was her interview with Jasmine Star - Having the Audacity to Dream. You can listen to that one HERE.

2. The Brendon Show/HPX Podcast with Brendon Burchard
If I had to name a favorite, this is it. Okay, so there are two podcasts listed here. The first one I discovered was The Brendon Show, probably because HPX just recently launched. I actually discovered Brendon Burchard during an interview on the RISE podcast and absolutely loved everything he had to say. Check out that episode HERE

His latest book, High Performance Habits, is currently on my nightstand and I'm trying to soak up every bit of information he has to give out. This book and podcasts are for everyone. Be it the businessperson, the stay-at-home mom, the work-from-home entrepreneur, or anything in between. Burchard's enthusiasm and real-life experiences drive you to action, and he also incorporates his wife and other successful leaders in interviews and conversations to give well-rounded perspectives. Love, love, love them!

3. Don't Keep Your Day Job with Cathy Heller
Don't you just love the title of this podcast? Though this may lean a bit more to the entrepreneur in all of us, Heller interviews some amazing people on her podcast. You'll learn so much about how people took something they loved and turned it into their dream job. It's motivational, inspiring, and I find myself smiling at the end.

4. Leading the Next Generation with Tim Elmore
This is a very new one for me that I just learned about from a friend, local business owner of Palmetto Twist in Johns Creek, and fellow tween mom. Bringing the struggles of parenting in this day and age where technology and social media abounds, Elmore brings to light thoughtful content about how to be an effective parent. From his episode titled Four Parenting Strategies for Leading Generation Z, I loved the tip about not reacting and "freaking out" so much to what your children tell you and let them be at peace for their decisions. Go check that episode out HERE. Honestly, this is one I need to listen to 100 times so it can sink in. So, so good!

I have more podcasts in my library, but these are the ones I keep going back to time and time again. Check them out and let me know what you think. If you have another favorite that you think I should check out, please let me know. I'd love to add to my collection and continue to go, learn and thrive!
