COOL OFF WITH A TWO HOUR RIVER FLOAT ON CHATTAHOOCHEE

By Becky Samford, Publisher Duluth, Norcross, Suwanee, Johns Creek & Peachtree Corners Macaroni Kid August 31, 2020

They don't call this "hot-lanta" for nothing! It's HOT!!

But, I know a way to cool off and spend a fun, but relaxing afternoon with your kids... go river tubing on the Chattahoochee! This is a "sport" everyone can enjoy. Grab your husband, your friends, the kids (must be 6 and be able to swim) and even the dog and head up to $10 River Tubing in Duluth.

Your tubes can be linked together so you float as a group. Dogs are welcome and can sit in a tube which you can simply link to your tube. Coolers are welcome and can sit in a linked tube for easy access. You can picnic as you float or exit to parks along the river with tables and amenities. There's plenty of wildlife to see  along the way because the river is home to fish, ducks, turtles, otters, beavers and birds. The Chattahoochee is beautiful and ranges from 18 inches to about five feet deep up here. Click HERE for more details.

All trips include a dual chamber tube, a Coast Guard approved life vest and the shuttle service to the river and pick up downstream. The two hour float ($10) puts in at Rogers Bridge and picks up at Abbotts Bridge Park. Note: There is a $2 COVID-19 fee this year.

You don't need a reservation. Just show up any time during normal working hours (10 AM -  4:30 PM) with your signed waiver and you are good to go! Download your waiver HERE.
