The name Poe & Company comes from a cherished childhood memory close to owner Kate Seng’s heart. 💛 Her father had a deep love for storytelling and reading, and one unforgettable moment was his dramatic performance of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart.” What could have been a chilling tale instead became a treasured family memory filled with imagination, laughter, and togetherness. His passion for dark mysteries — and his admiration for Edgar Allan Poe and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes — left a lasting impression and inspired the heart behind the shop.
This love of stories shines through in everything Poe & Company offers. 📚 They host Kids Story Time every Tuesday and Friday from 10:30–11:00, making it the sweetest stop for little readers. The kids’ book section is even thoughtfully organized by age groups, making it easy (and fun) to find the perfect story.
Book lovers of all ages will also love the book clubs you can join, along with the monthly staff picks — a curated list of each team member’s favorite read. If you already have a book club, Poe & Company can even place a group order just for you.

This is such a cute community store. I love how she recently opened up the second room for people to work, read or community events, a few which I have been to. You can tell Kate loves this community and has a great pride in her store. The kids love story time and as a teacher I was impressed how she had all the books organized by age level. This is a true treasure!
