It seems that I realize more and more every day how fortunate we are to live in this area. There is such an amazing variety of activities that are family-friendly and so much fun, offering a great way of breaking up the day-to-day routine.

So when I learned that Main Event Entertainment was opening up in Alpharetta, I knew we hit the jackpot on a really fun option for the whole family. It's a place where you can Eat, Bowl and Play in a bright, fun atmosphere!

My boys and I had the opportunity to check out Main Event and try our hand at many of the great activities that are featured inside. We started in the arcade, playing air hockey, racing cars and motorcycles, and my all-time favorite, skee-ball. You'll find the newest games as well as your oldies but goodies.

Next, we moved to the gravity ropes which my brave 7-year-old decided to give a try. The course is suspended within the arcade and features rope bridges and sky treks. There's no reason to worry about the safety as each participant is securely harnessed and given instruction before they take the course. Please note that you must be at least 48 inches to do this activity, so be prepared with the littler ones if your bigger kiddos decide to give it a go!

My boys and I love to go bowling together, so we headed to the lanes next. After renting the oh-so-fashionable bowling shoes, we were taken to our assigned lane and briefed on the many choices we had for games. There were some just for the kids as well as your traditional games. We had fun taking photos of ourselves for a unique way of showing whose turn it was. You can assign bumpers for the kiddos (or anyone that may need a bit more help), and the perfect-sized balls are easy to find as they are organized in one area so you don't have to go searching. (Hooray!)

Our next excursion was into the glowing walls of the laser tag arena. After gearing up and being given a quick tutorial on how to use the equipment, we were off blasting our opponents with lasers as we sneakily crept around walls and pillars and down passageways. This was probably our favorite activity. I know I got into it just as much as my boys and we all had a ton of laughs. Please note that you must be at least 48 inches to do this activity, so be prepared with the littler ones if your bigger kiddos decide to give it a go!

Just outside of the laser tag area was an interactive floor where my kids were able to jump around and burn off energy (yes, it's never-ending!) while they popped popcorn kernels, set off fireworks, and scored the winning goal at a World Cup soccer game. This was a big hit with all of the kiddos that day.

You certainly won't go hungry while you're there as there a several dining options offering your and your kids' favorite food options including burgers and pizzas, salads and sandwiches, and much more. And make sure to treat yourself to the scrumptious gelato at La Bella's Pizza.

We didn't manage to try out the shuffleboard or pool tables, but those are also there for your enjoyment.

Before you go, make sure you take a look at the available promotions including the Summer Funpass. Now through September 1st, you can get all you can play bowling laser tag, billiards and the gravity ropes course for as little as $15.95 per person per session.

We had a great time and highly recommend heading over to Main Event in Alpharetta to Eat, Bowl and Play!. Whether you're looking for a fun place for a birthday party, work event, or just to get out of the heat for the day, Main Event is definitely a place to add to the to-do list.....one that you actually look forward to doing!
