Playing in the Snow at Snow Mountain!

Stone Mountain Park brings the magic of Christmas through their Stone Mountain Christmas!

December 9, 2013
My family and I had the pleasure of being guests at Stone Mountain this past weekend for their seasonal Snow Mountain attraction, as well as Stone Mountain Christmas. We had gone last year, but I was especially excited to visit again now that my little guy is 3 and able to go on the family tube "ride." (Kids have to be at least 36" tall for the family tube and 42" for the single tube.)

We were pleased to see that they had all eight lanes open for the Tube Runners (single tube) slides and four lanes open for the family tubes at Avalanche Alley. The lines really moved quickly and we were able to get our fill of tubing in during our two-hour time slot. It is quite surprising how fun tubing down the snowy hill is, both in the single and family tubes! It's easy to feel like a kid again, and my husband and I were begging our kids to go "just one more time!" I'll warn you that the family tube lanes have a pretty big drop right at the start and they move pretty fast, but we all had a blast! My 3-year-old was even asking to go again!

The kids also had a great time playing in the Snow Zone where you can build snowmen, throw snowballs at each other (probably my kids' favorite activity!), and even sled down kid-szied hills, perfect for kiddos 3 and under. My little guy was a littler nervous about the sledding at first, but after he did it once, he was a pro and kept going back for more!

Of course, there are plenty of treats and eats all over Stone Mountain and we had a great time making s'mores over a Big Green Egg at Snow Fire Point. It was the perfect ending to our Snow Mountain adventure!

The grounds of Stone Mountain are decorated beautifully with tons of lights literally covering every building. It's quite breathtaking to look at! The Stone Mountain Christmas activities are plentiful and range from parades, to Christmas movies and shows, to a sing-along train ride. My kids LOVED the train ride and we all had a blast getting in the Christmas spirit while singing our favorite Christmas carols as we enjoyed riding around Stone Mountain!
